Bellwork:You are driving down a dark road and suddenly a dog runs in front of your car. Without being able to stop you feel your tires roll over the small animal. Do you get out to see if it is okay? If it has died but has tags for an address up the street what do you do? What would you say to the owner? Would you want someone else to do the same if it were your pet?

Languid –

sluggish; weak without vigor or spirit

Many of the Beach Boys greatest songs were written while Brian Wilson lay languidly in bed.

Visceral –

instinctive; profound; affecting the viscera or internal organs

For many of the advanced biology students, watching the autopsy was a visceral experience; many of them could not eat for days.
